Daniel O’Sullivan is a versatile producer, composer, arranger, songwriter, and classically trained multi-instrumentalist who has been shaping the musical landscape since the late 1990s. His influence spans international acclaim, encompassing solo endeavors and collaborations with diverse groups.
Noteworthy contributions include his role in the avant-pop duo Grumbling Fur, collaboration with Norwegian post-metal legends Ulver, involvement with U.S. drone titans Sunn O))), and participation in the reincarnation of the post-everything trio This Heat, known as This Is Not This Heat. O’Sullivan has notably produced the last two solo albums for The Charlatans frontman, Tim Burgess, showcasing his prowess in writing, recording arrangements, and directing live ensembles.
Beyond his contributions to the music scene, O’Sullivan has composed works for film and installation, adding five albums to the esteemed KPM library music catalog. His distinctive style involves collaging various musical disciplines, leading to collaborations with luminaries such as ‘continuous music’ pioneer Charlemagne Palestine and Turner Prize-nominee Mark Titchner, where they created large-scale surround sound/AV installations. O’Sullivan has also ventured into the realm of theatre, providing music for productions directed by OBE recipient Neil Bartlett.
Daniel O’Sullivan is available for solo sets, special collaborations or as trio with Charlemagne Palestine and Oren Ambarchi revisiting ‘KKAARREENNIINNAA’. O’Sullivan is also available with his new project for orchestra ‘EROS’.
